Abstract
In this study we will examine Tülay German and her music based on the documentary called “Years of Ember and Fire” that is focused on her life. We will try to describe her position in localization of music. Tülay German begins her music career in early 60’s and after that when she meet her husband Erdem Buri her life begins to change. This duo’s efficiency in the intelectual life beat a very important path in Turkish popular music. Tülay German lives in Paris for a long period who sign the pioneer works of Anatolian Pop. Her influence in music area is still ongoing as an important name of political and cultural life in Turkey. Tülay German didn’t interwiev with anyone or looks around for a long period, she is under debate in “Years of Ember and Fire” documentary which her voice we can hear only. In this study we criticize the analyze of 68 movement in the documentary that Tülay German is also the part of this movement and we show the main lines of Tülay German’s music journey.
