Abstract
Duchenne myodystrophy (DMD) is an inherited progressive disease of the muscular system associated with mutations in the dystrophin gene, which encodes a protein that plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of muscle fibers. The disease mainly affects boys and manifests itself in early childhood. The progression of DMD leads to severe disability and shortened life expectancy. Despite the lack of a radical treatment method, the achievements of modern medicine have significantly improved the quality of life of patients and prolong their lives.
