Abstract

In a continuous effort to address engineering challenges, the Bolivian Journal of Sciences is pleased to present Volume 19, Issue 54, which focuses primarily on case studies while also exploring Industry 4.0 technologies applied in Latin American tech startups and the use of technology to support Braille reading education. The selected articles provide insights into maintenance management in an instrumentation services company and equipment inspection management for dairy production. Additionally, one study examines the incorporation of aggregates from processed construction and demolition waste into concrete, using materials processed at the EMAVERDE pilot transformation plant in La Paz, Bolivia, to propose a formula that can predict the behavior of this type of concrete. This issue also presents a stochastic modeling of storms applied to the Misicuni Dam, comparing it with conventional methods as an alternative for predicting flow behavior. Furthermore, it features the design of an electronic device to support Braille reading education, aiming to assist instructors in teaching Braille characters through an Android mobile application. Through these studies, we invite the scientific community to explore new technological frontiers, driven by the shared motivation to advance toward a future where innovation and engineering converge to enhance quality of life and drive local and global progress.
