Abstract
The case report of ascending aorta replacement through T-like ministernotomy approach is presented. The advantages of this method compared to longitudinal median sternotomy are described. Usage of ministernotomy approach made possible to decrease dosages of analgetics after surgery, reduce the time of mechanical ventilation in the postoperative period, blood loss compared to the standard technique. Ministernotomy is an effective and safe technique for the treatment of chronic aneurysm of the ascending aorta combined with aortic valve. Minimizing of surgical trauma without usage of expensive devices allows to reduce patient's stay in the cardiac ward after surgery, to reduce the financial losses related to the treatment.
