Abstract

The present article deals with the choice of verbal and non-verbal means of communication due to such sociolinguistic component of the situational context as gender of communication participants. Communica- tive specificities of men and women in the status-role relationship within different situational contexts have been analyzed, which forms socially marked speech on the lexical, phonetic and grammatical levels. Men and women implement special strategies, which determine the difference between male and female behavior. The choice of a particular type of speech behavior of an individual, depending on his/her status and role-based feature, has been revealed on their role-based features: “subordinate”, “superior” and “equal”. Consequently, the system of lin- guistic expression ways in gender aspect is cited as well. Gender aspect of the language is on the focus of mod- ern linguistics. Various aspects of behavioral acts of male and female are determined by a number of communi- cative circumstances which have an impact on the participants’ way of speaking, way of thinking and way of using linguistic means
