State Problems and Guidelines for Academic Administration in Small-Sized Schools under the Supervision of Kalasin Primary Educational Service Area Office 2

Abstract

The results of the research were as follows: 1) The administrators viewed that the overall condition of the academic administration in small-sized schools under Kalasin Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 was at high level. When each aspect was considered separately, it was found that all aspects were at high level. The aspects which gained the highest mean was the learning and teaching management in schools, while the preparation of regulations and rules regarding schools’ academic tasks was the aspect that gained the lowest mean. 2) The teachers viewed that the overall condition of the academic administration in small-sized schools under Kalasin Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 was at high level. The aspects which gained the highest mean was the learning and teaching management in schools and the aspect with the lowest mean was found to be the educational promotion and support to the person, family, organizations, enterprises, and other institutions managing education. 3) The problems in administering education in small-sized schools found in the interviews with the schools’ administrators and teachers were mostly about planning the academic tasks such as proposing the lesson plans, making the plans up to date, developing the learning media, learning and teaching management in educational institutions; teachers also had other responsibilities such as academic tasks, general management, budgeting, and personnel development. In addition, developing and using the educational technology was also another problem found. That is to say, almost all of the small-sized schools were in short supply of media and innovation. 4) For the guidelines for academic administration in small-sized schools under Kalasin Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 accordingly to the experts, it could be concluded that the guidelines were suitable and feasible at high level. The topics need to be carried out were participation in specifying the visions and goals of the academic performances, arrangement of the learning and teaching activities accordingly to the indicators, development of the curriculum along with the national education’s goals and directions, arrangement of the reading activities in order to promote fluent reading and writing skills. Moreover, teachers should take research to solve learning and teaching problems. Supervision feedback should be reported in order for the teachers to develop and improve their performances. The schools should construct the internal educational structures to comply with the internal quality assurance. The schools, school committee, community, and parents should help provide resources for educational media technology.
