Abstract
The article analyzes the practical use of the state regulation system of indicators characterizing the scientific, technological and innovation potential, including the regional level. The system of indicators to measure the innovative development of the Russian Federation Subjects is suggested. The goal is to explore the main approaches to the evaluation of innovation development of the subjects of the Russian Federation. Methodology is the systematic approach, methods of analysis and synthesis. The work resulted in the performed analysis of different approaches to assessing the potential of innovation sphere, suggesting the technique of evaluating the innovative level of the subjects of the Russian Federation (based on the Express-analysis). Application of the results is the state regulation of regional innovation development. Conclusions - the suggested system of indicators allows to obtain timely information on the state of scientific, technological and innovative potential of Subjects of the Russian Federation.
