Abstract

The article presents the main pathological manifestations of GERD in the oral cavity, which are presented by clinical signs as for the soft tissues of the oral cavity (lips, tongue, periodontal disease) and solid teeth tissues (erosion, caries). It has been established that in the objective examination of the oral cavity, most of patients (72%) had a dry red border of the lips and swelling of the tongue with hypertrophy of the filament papillae. Almost half of the patients (38.6%) were diagnosed with desquamative glossitis, cheilitis, in the cortex of the mouth. Among non-carious lesions, enamel erosion of hard dental tissues, wedge-shaped defects, and increased tooth erosion from 24% to 50% are common. Among inflammatory diseases of periodontal tis-sues, there are gingivitis of various clinical forms and periodontitis 83 - 89%. The most common ones are ca-tarrhal, hypertrophic gingivitis (14%). Generally, saliva is enriched with calcium, phos-phate, sodium, potassium, magnesium. Possessing alka-line properties, at low pH, leads to focal demineralization of teeth with the appearance of erosions of hard tissues and Caries. Saliva is a regulator of the total number of mi-croorganisms in the oral cavity, and the change in its physical and chemical properties in diseases of the GERD can contribute to dysbiosis (V.D. Trifonov).
