Abstract
Solar still technique, utilizes evaporation–condensation, convert contaminated and salty water into the distilled purified water by eliminating dissolved salts, impurities and perched solids. The present study involves on an innovative double slope stepped solar still which improve the productivity significantly. The performance of double slope stepped (complementary to each other on the basis of sun exposure) solar still has been investigated experimentally in seasonally varying climatic conditions in dry tropical region at Amroha, India. This innovative still design showed significant improvement (by 106 %) in the productivity, compared to existing models
