Abstract

For a long time, economic institutions have focused on maximizing profits and ignoring all their negative impacts on both the environment (pollution, depletion of natural resources ...) and the society. However, in the context of the development of the local and international business environment and the new global phenomena of globalization and technological development, as well as the social and environmental disasters resulting from intensive industrialization which have increased the pressures of various parties related to economic institutions on the economic institution , the situation requires that these institutions adopt social roles in which they try to legitimate their existence, develop their performance, and improve their reputation. Hence, These companies are obliged to balance between their economic goals from one side and the social and environmental goals from the other side. In other words, their decisions are not purely economic, but more concerned with community service and environmental protection. Thus, they should follow the new strategy called “the social responsibility for the company”.
