Character Education Media Based on Javanese Culture through the Yogyakarta Classical Ketoprak Script “Keris Mataram”

Abstract
Ketoprak is one of the many Javanese performing arts that displays stories of Javanese life and contains messages and character values that are very useful for every day. Character education is useful to foster the character of society, especially teenagers who are not yet suitable. This is due to the many behaviors that deviate from the values of the noble character of the nation shown by teenagers. This research aims to analyze the value of character education in the classic Ketoprak script of Yogyakarta style Keris Mataram as a means of character education. The data source in this study is the ketoprak manuscript Keris Mataram. After the data analysis can be concluded that the value of character education in the classic Yogyakarta-style ketoprak script entitled Keris Mataram in the form of honesty, democracy, responsibility, discipline, and love of the homeland. From the analysis of the data, it can be concluded that in the classic Yogyakarta-style ketoprak script entitled Keris Mataram there is a reflection on the value of character education which is reviewed from the dialogue of figures in the form of phrases, words, and sentences in the script and can be used as one of the means and media of character education based on Javanese culture.
