Abstract

Ensuring the growth of financial and economic results of economic activity of enterprises requires increasing the level of intensification of the production process at them. The development and implementation of measures aimed at the intensification of the production process at enterprises should be preceded by an assessment of the existing level of such intensification. This requires the creation and application of appropriate tools. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to develop and apply methodological principles for assessing the level of intensification of the production process at enterprises. An indicator for evaluating the level of intensification of the production process at enterprises is proposed. For the purpose of such evaluation, it is proposed to apply the ratio of the increase in the volume of production of the enterprise due to the increase in the efficiency of the use of a certain type of its resources to the sum of the increase in the volume of production of the enterprise due to the change in the volume of these resources and due to the change in the efficiency of their use. Using this indicator, it is possible to establish the type of development of the production process at the enterprise according to a certain type of its resources β€” mainly intensive or mainly extensive. A sequence of evaluating the degree of intensification of the development of the production process at the enterprise by a separate type of its resources has been developed. The developed methodological principles for assessing the level of intensification of the production process were tested on a sample of thirty industrial enterprises. As the results of the conducted empirical analysis showed, the average level of intensification of the production process is the highest in terms of human resources, and the lowest β€” in terms of material resources, for all studied types of economic activity. At the same time, this level in the studied period was sufficiently high only for enterprises of the food industry and only in relation to the human resources available to them. At the same time, the vast majority of enterprises were characterized either by a reduction in production volumes, or by an extensive (mostly extensive) type of economic development. Improvement of this situation is possible only on the basis of increasing the level of intensification of the production process at most of the investigated enterprises.
