Basic problems of study of language and style of Ukrainian dumas of the XIXth ? beginning of the XXth centuries

The article formulates and discusses the main problems facing the Ukrainian lingvofolklorist, in the matter of study language and style of Ukrainian dumas of classic repertoire. Basic directions of study are structured in the aspects of synchrony vs diachrony, language vs speech. The questions of duma’s conservative traditions of XIX ? early XX century in comparison with the epic genre of other nations is rising. Individual attention paid to the quantity of "epic formulas" which had become familiar with folk singer and created by him. It seems to be a promising to outline as the object of research on the one hand the actual text of doom, and on the other - their performers: kobzars and lyre players as subjects of language. In addition, among the verbal aspects two remain operative - duma relevant text to specific dialect of the artist and, M. Muryanov’s "poetics of church Slavonic".
