Psychological approach to understanding Taras Shevchenko as a prophet

The subject of research is a prophet function of Taras Shevchenko. The aim of the article is a psychological interpretation understanding Shevchenko prophet. The article aim is to use psychological interpretation of understanding Shevchenko as a prophet. Metodology: psychology of creativity, literary and psychological analysis. Results: we found that the collective unconscious becomes a personal experience of the writer-prophet, and carries him into the sphere of art. He called to decode the underlying causes of the tragic fate of the history of the motherland for a posterity, to convey to them ?universal truths of Ukrainian culture?. Poet mediates between heaven and earth and elected by transcendental forces. These findings can be applied to cultural studies, literary criticism, psychology of creativity.
