Abstract

This paper aims to highlight the ethical aspect of literary translation, which has often put the translator in the dock. In an attempt to draw the line between adaptation and translation, a critical analysis was conducted on a set of samples, considered to be most appropriate for the research topic. In conclusion, this study underscores the importance of differentiating between global versus local adaptation. Furthermore, it emphasizes the translator's fundamental responsibility to uphold the principle of faithfulness when conveying literary texts.
